Awesome, portable, powerful Jan 06, 2009 I'm a DIY'er and ordered this unit because it was compatible with the 18V drill/batteries/charger I already had. I love the "tool only" option. It works nice under normal use, is balanced and light. Since I have two batteries, I always have a full and ready charge. I can cut through 2"x4"'s like butter and I was impressed with it ripping through a sheet of MDF. Much easier than pulling out the table saw for one or two long cuts without any help.
Powerful saw! Jan 06, 2009 I am very pleased with this saw. It is much more powerful and useful than the smaller "trim saw." I have heard complaints that it uses up the battery quickly, but I have not noticed any significant problem in that regard.
For approximately $50 (as a bare tool, without batteries), this was a very nice addition to my Dewalt cordless tool collection.
This is a good little saw. Jan 01, 2009 Bought this saw in 2006, has been reliable. Used for home renovation. Don't have a problem with the safety switch. Easy cuts thru 2x4, even pressure treated. Often I'll grab this saw instead of a corded saw even when near outlets. It is a good value.
Shipped promptly, item was as advertised Nov 16, 2008 Item was shipped promptly, we received within estimated arrival. Item received was as advertised. Appreciate it!
18 v Dewalt Saw Nov 02, 2008 Replaced a 14.4v Dewalt saw with this one. It's run time is much longer. We reach for it now when we used to grab a corded saw.
