Works just fine, exactly as designed Dec 09, 2008 I have a bunch of DeWalt 18v tools, and I like music. It works just fine with my iPod plugged in, and I have faith that it will handle a dusty environment.
I use it in my trailer when camping (yes, I take cordless tools camping) and it fills the trailer with decent sound. Does it sound as good as a 7.1 Dolby surround blah blah stereo? Hell no. It wasn't designed for that.
It's a boom box.
It recharges your DeWalt batteries.
You can plug in an iPod.
Who uses CDs any more?
The radio works fine, but radio stations in this country are so bad, I never listen anyway.
Nice Radio/Recharger Sep 03, 2008 Good quality sound, will run on battery power when unplugged, charges Dewalt cordless tool battery pack when plugged. Didn't come with a battery. It's a must have at the jobsite if you use Dewalt cordless tools.

Worst DeWalt product ever Aug 06, 2008 I finally am able to remove this piece of junk from my truck and replace it with something else. I've been a user of DeWalt and their cordless tools for some time, and generally love their products, but this one is a terrible joke. DeWalt makes fantastic tools; they need to buy these junk radios back and put out a better designed jobsite radio.

Another awesome Dewalt product. Jun 21, 2008 Works perfectly... Only down side is the charger is in the back, so if you have it on a shelf you have to pull it down to swap batteries. Great reception and easy to program.

Overheats Batteries Jun 13, 2008 I am a professional contractor who lives in a small town in North Dakota. This is my second DeWalt DC011 Radio Charger in a years' time. My first radio worked fine the first couple of months that I had it. (Happened to be wintertime and I was using it in a house under construction with only a space heater for heat at the time. By the time summer rolled around, I found that it was blinking the Hot/Cold Pack Delay signal. I found the pack which had been placed in to be extremely hot, and it wasn't when I put it in. Turned out that this pack was ruined, and I thought it was a fluke. It worked OK far a couple of days. Later the same thing happened to another pack which was only a couple of months old.
Since this unit was still under warranty I returned it to an authorized service center. But they did not work on the electronics there, so it was sent to Minneapolis. They didn't find anything wrong. I got the radio back and tried it. Sure enough after a day or two I had a pack overheat. I sent it in again specifically stating that it overheats the battery packs on occasion. (These are packs that never overheated in the regular charger).
About a month later I received a brand new replacement. I thought my problems might be over, but it was the same thing again. As of this writing I am contacting DeWalt to see if there is any way to rectify this problem, and I only keep a weak pack in the radio. I use the regular charger to charge my batteries.
